2026 is going to be a make or break year for many real estate agents. If you want a strong 2026, keep an eye on these 4 areas of your business. This could be the year you 3x or 4x your business if things play out well.
Pay attention to:
Mortgage rates (up or down)
Home sales (more or less than last month)
Are buyers touring homes again?
Are sellers ready to list again?
Do this: Track 3 local numbers each week and share them. (Example: Average Home Price, New Listings, Just Sold's, Etc.)
Once a week:
Pull numbers from your MLS for your city + one main zip code you serve
Write 3 bullet points (one per number)
Post it on:
Instagram Stories
Email your list
Many customers and clients are waiting on the sidelines right now. There are two major groups to focus on now:
Sellers who want a better home
First-time buyers waiting for the right time
When the market loosens up, it can get busy fast.
Do this: Start marketing and educating now, not later. Stay in contact with your buyers and sellers so when the market starts moving, they move too.
I know, I know it sounds simple, but it works. If people know you and trust you, they choose you.
Do this:
Talk to people daily (calls, texts, DMs)
Post weekly (tips, market updates, behind the scenes)
Check in monthly (past clients, local referral partners)
A lot of agents work hard early, then slow down. Referrals can help you stay steady, but they usually do not help you grow.
Do this: Keep building until you hit your income goal.
Set your number: Pick your income goal and how many deals you need to hit.
Weekly basics:
Talk to at least 50 people (calls, texts, DMs)
Follow up with leads and past clients
Post 3 times (1 video, 1 tip, 1 proof/story)
Friday review: Track reach-outs, conversations, appointments set, appointments held, and closings. If appointments are low, talk to more people next week.
