How To Get Referrals From Other Agents On Social Media

You CAN get referrals from other real estate agents on Instagram without spending a single dollar on advertising. A lot of real estate agents admit that much of their business comes from referrals, but not many actually ask for referrals from fellow agents. These agents can be in your same marketplace, OR they can be in a different town, city, state, or even country!! In this video, we’re breaking down how to get it done in 3 steps.

Step 1: Show Up Consistently


The first and foremost step in generating referral business from social media is to establish your presence on the platform. Without an active and consistent presence, it's challenging to build relationships and gain visibility. You need to create an account, whether it's on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or any other platform of your choice, and regularly post content related to real estate. Consistency is key here, as it helps you stay top-of-mind for other agents.


It's important to create valuable and engaging content that resonates with your target audience. Share industry insights, market updates, success stories, and helpful tips that demonstrate your expertise. By consistently showing up on social media, you increase your visibility and build credibility, making it easier to attract potential referral partners.

Step 2: Build Relationships


Once you have established your presence on social media, it's time to start building relationships with other agents. Don't limit your interactions to just consumers; engage with fellow agents as well. Interact with their posts, leave thoughtful comments, and share valuable insights. By engaging with other agents, you create opportunities to connect, collaborate, and build trust.


Take the initiative to reach out to agents in your marketplace or even outside of your area. Building relationships with agents from different locations can expand your referral network and increase your chances of receiving referrals. Be genuine, supportive, and willing to offer assistance when needed. Building meaningful relationships is the foundation for generating referral business.

Over time, as trust builds, you may find that referrals start to come naturally.
